LONDON, Feb. 2 -- The government of the United Kingdom issued the following news:
Anyone who pays business rates- and thinks their current valuation is wrong-is beingencouraged to sign up for a business rates valuation account.
If you donothave an accountalready, or havenotusedyoursfor some time, it can take 15workingdays to register andclaimyour property.
You have until 31 March to request changes toyourcurrent valuation by:

checking the details theValuation Office Agency (VOA)holdsabout your property
*
tellingthe VOAif anything is wrong.
From 1 April, a newratinglist and new valuations takeeffectandyou will only be able to request changes to your new valuation.
The VOAhas updated the rateable values of all non-domestic properties in England and Wales.This is known as a revaluation.
Revaluations are carried out every3years to reflect changes in the property market.
Requesting changes to your valuation
To request changesto your property's current valuation, sign in toyourbusiness rates valuation account.
If you do not have an account, you should register nowand claim your property.
It can take up to 15workingdays to complete the verification process and claim your property.
Any changes made to your 2023 valuation could result in your property's rateable value going up or down. They may also affect your future valuation.
Signing in to your account
You will need a Government Gateway user ID and password or One Login account to sign into your account.
If your Government Gateway user ID has been inactive for3years or more, it may have beendeletedfor security reasons. In that case, you will have to create a new account and reclaim your property. Thismay take up to 15workingdays to process.
