U.K., Oct. 12 -- UK Parliament issued the following news:

Responding to the launch today of the government’s Flood and Drought Resilience Taskforce, the Chair of the Environmental Audit Committee, Toby Perkins MP, said:

"I'm encouraged to see the relaunch today of the government's vital Flood Resilience Taskforce. With more than 6 million homes and businesses still at risk of flooding according to the Environment Agency, urgent action on flooding has never been more important.

Last year we recommended the government strengthen the taskforce the advice available to flood victims. I'm pleased that the new 'Flood Action Online' website appears to take those recommendations forward.

However, I'm disappointed that ministers have stopped short of implementing the single dedicated phone line that we called for in our report. As in any other crisis, victims need to know who to call and how to get help as quickly as possible."
